In honor of our 50th year in business, GT would like to reflect on the past and the client relationships we have been fortunate to have created. In this article we would like to place a spotlight on two of the longest standing managers we have had the pleasure of working with; Brad Davis of Gold-Eagle Cooperative in Goldfield, Iowa and Michael Whittie of Federal Employees Credit Union in Des Moines, Iowa.

This year due to the number of students that applied for the scholarship, and their outstanding achievements, we elected to offer three scholarships. The scholarships were awarded to this year’s graduates from Waukee High School who plan to attend a post secondary school and pursue a degree in accounting. The three candidates each received a scholarship in the amount of $1,000.

Founder of Gardiner Thomsen CPAs, Dan Gardiner, was inducted into the Iowa Institute for Cooperatives Hall of Fame on November 26th, 2013. Presenting the award for Dan was long-time client, Jim Carlson, General Manager of First Coop Association of Cherokee, Iowa. His sons, Daniel “Mark” Gardiner and Dennis Gardiner, accepted the award on his behalf and really appreciate all of the kind words their colleagues and friends wrote about Dan to help make him a nominee for this award.

We at Gardiner Thomsen CPAs take great pleasure in announcing the promotion of Seth Gilson to the role of Partner in our firm, joining our 7 other partners. Seth has been a valuable asset to the firm over the past 15 years and demonstrates outstanding dedication to our clients.

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our hospitality room in Minneapolis on December 5th during the CHS Annual Meeting. We have had the pleasure of hosting a hospitality room during this annual event for many years now and were very pleased with the turn out this year!
