Senior Staff Accountant
Senior staff accountants are expected to understand our firm’s policies and procedures as well as be technically skilled enough to supervise our staff accountants. We also ask that they develop the soft skills necessary to develop and build upon client relationships. Senior staff accountants should be well-practiced in auditing standards, procedures and techniques as well as tax regulations and research methods.

Junior Staff Accountant

RESPONSIBILITIES
Research accounting and audit standards
Consult with audit staff on implementing new standards
Consult with clients on implementing new standards

Ability to take ownership of this project working closely with the firm’s partners, managers and senior staff
Work on the firm’s audits, as necessary

We need a quick study to join us and assist our Des Moines-based tax department with the preparation of increasingly complex and detailed returns for C corps, partnerships and non-profits. RESPONSIBILITIES
Development of tax returns and supporting documentation
Follow industry trends and track tax-related changes every year
Working closely with our Tax Manager to ensure accuracy
Maintain close ties with our audit staff and clients
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum two seasons as a tax accountant with a public accounting firm
- Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and practices
- Familiarity with accounting specific software
- Extensive computer literacy with an MS Excel focus
- Excellent time management and analytic skills
- Confidence to accept constructive criticism and act on input
- Well skilled in oral and written communication
- BS/BA degree in Accounting (CPA preferred but not required)
