Senior Staff Accountant

Senior staff accountants are expected to understand our firm’s policies and procedures as well as be technically skilled enough to supervise our staff accountants. We also ask that they develop the soft skills necessary to develop and build upon client relationships. Senior staff accountants should be well-practiced in auditing standards, procedures and techniques as well as tax regulations and research methods.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • College Degree with major in accounting or other related business field
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience
  • Passed the CPA exam

Junior Staff Accountant

Junior staff accountants are expected to become familiar with the firm’s policies and procedures, understand professional standards, and will become proficient in preparing tax and/or financial statements. They will also work toward passing the CPA exam as soon as possible.

Tax Accountant – Business Tax Returns (Full Time)

Accountant, CPA or CPA candidate – Des Moines, IA

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with major agricultural-based clients, credit unions, and governmental entities, preparing increasingly complex and detailed returns for C corps, partnerships, and non-profits. Our firm, consisting of over 40 professionals, specializes in serving agriculture-based clients, credit unions, and governmental entities, providing an excellent opportunity for professional growth.

No personal returns are prepared by this firm.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop tax returns and prepare supporting documentation
Stay updated with industry trends and track tax-related changes
Collaborate closely with our Tax Manager to ensure accuracy and efficiency
Maintain strong relationships with our audit staff and clients

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of two seasons experience as a tax accountant with a public accounting firm
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and practices
  • Familiarity with accounting specific software
  • Proficiency in MS Excel with a strong computer literacy
  • Excellent time management and analytical skills
  • Openness to accepting constructive criticism and implementing feedback
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • BS/BA degree in Accounting (CPA preferred but not required)
