Staff Training Week

Matt Gardiner, CPA, CFE, Audit Manager

Each year, our entire team comes together for a couple of days dedicated to team-building and professional training. Given that our staff is spread across four offices (Lincoln, NE; Charles City, IA; Sioux Falls, SD; and Des Moines, IA), this event is crucial for fostering unity and collaboration. As we approach one of our firm’s busiest seasons for audits and inventories, it's essential to update everyone on the latest developments in audit, accounting, and tax regulations, as well as the technological advancements within our firm, and topics impacting our clients. This event also provides an opportunity to enjoy time together outside the typical work environment.

To kick off our staff training week, we organized several fun activities. Some of our team members enjoyed a day of golfing at Sugar Creek, while others headed to Putts & Pins for Duck Pin Bowling and Mini Golf. After a full day of training sessions, we all gathered for dinner and drinks at Smash Park. The evening was filled with various activities, including Pickleball, where some staff members showcased their skills on the court. Others engaged in friendly competitions playing bags, foosball, and Jenga.

This annual event is one we look forward to each year. It not only helps us grow professionally but also strengthens our bonds as a team, making us better equipped to face the challenges of the busy season ahead.
