Robert Bell

Bio

Robert has a Master’s degree in Accounting and a CPA license which bring a strong foundation of financial expertise to his work. His journey to accounting was unique; starting out his career as a firefighter in Northern Colorado after graduating from Colorado State University. This experience instilled a strong sense of discipline and service which he now has applied to his passion for accounting, tax and finance. Robert and his Wife moved to the Des Moines area in 2013 to work alongside his father-in-law’s family business; an experience that provides a particularly close and rewarding professional dynamic.

Hobbies

Outside of work, Robert is a dedicated family man, enjoying time with his wife Emily and their three energetic sons – Wes, Wyatt & Ward. Much of his time is spent involved in their athletics either cheering them on or coaching. He is also an avid Denver Broncos fan. In his free time, Robert enjoys exploring the outdoors, playing racquetball or discovering a quality craft IPA.

Expertise

Robert specializes in cooperative taxation and oversees the tax department at Gardiner + Company. He is well-versed in a broad range of tax code areas and holds memberships with the AICPA, ISCPA, NSAC, and NCFC. Licensed in Iowa, Robert's background as an auditor provides him with a unique perspective encompassing both audit and tax functions. He enjoys a hands-on approach, often participating in inventory observations such as measuring grain bins and fertilizer sheds. Robert is dedicated to assisting clients with tax planning, equity management, and comprehensive accounting support.
