Orion Smith is an Auditor at Gardiner + Company, where he has quickly made an impact despite being with the firm for less than a year. He holds a Master of Accountancy degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Orion was drawn to auditing for its job security and has remained in the profession due to the meaningful contributions his team makes to clients’ business operations. He enjoys the diversity of his work at Gardiner, particularly in areas like grain accounting and analyzing the effects of hedge closures and grain sales. Orion is also passionate about understanding how operational decisions influence tax provisions.
Hobbies
Outside of work, Orion enjoys spending time with his growing family, including his wife and their three children, and makes time for golf when possible. As a fan of Illini hockey and football, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and Da Bears, he also loves attending PGA events with his wife and cheering on Scottie Scheffler.
