Joe Alsup is a Partner at Gardiner + Company with more than 20 years of public accounting experience. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Illinois State University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Before joining Gardiner + Company in 2024, Joe spent six years with a small regional firm, six years with a large regional firm, and ten years with a large national firm, where he achieved the milestone of becoming a principal. His career has been shaped by overcoming complex challenges and delivering high-quality service to clients across a wide range of engagements.
Hobbies
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending concerts, and following Chicago sports—particularly the Bears and the Cubs.

Joe specializes in working with grain companies and is passionate about helping clients navigate industry changes, including the growing impact of artificial intelligence on auditing. He appreciates his team’s strong commitment to client service and their deep understanding of clients’ businesses. Joe currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Grain & Feed Association of Illinois, a role he will hold through February 15, 2026.
