Bio

Jim English, a Partner at Gardiner + Company, has been a cornerstone of the firm for over 31 years. He graduated from the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) and began his accounting career with Gardiner right after college. As a CPA, Jim is passionate about working with cooperatives, a specialty that connects him to his agricultural roots—growing up on a farm has shaped his approach to working closely with farmers. His dedication to the firm and clients is evident in his milestone of 30 years at Gardiner, where he has built strong relationships with both his team and clients. One of the biggest challenges he's faced in his role as a partner is navigating the complexities of maintaining talent in an evolving industry, a challenge he remains committed to overcoming.

Hobbies

Outside of work, Jim enjoys spending time with his wife of 22 years, Mary Beth, and their two adult children, both of whom are college students. Although Jim might not consider himself a golf pro, he’s always up for a round of golf. A fan of sports, Jim follows the Chicago Cubs, Dallas Cowboys, Iowa Hawkeyes, ISU rugby, and UNI athletics. He is also an active member of the NSAC, AICPA, and ISCPA, continuing to stay engaged with the professional community. Jim remains committed to his professional interests and to helping his clients succeed.
