Bio

Greg Cargin is a Partner at Gardiner + Company, where he has spent two decades contributing to the firm’s success. He earned his degree from the University of Northern Iowa and became a CPA, which laid the foundation for his career. Greg joined Gardiner right after graduation in the summer of 1998 and spent over two years with the firm before briefly leaving. He returned in September 2005 and has been with Gardiner’s Sioux Falls office ever since. Over the years, Greg has built strong relationships and a solid client base, with one of his proudest achievements being the growth of the Sioux Falls office. One of the challenges he faced was taking over the office and client management when he returned, but his determination to build a robust book of business has been a significant milestone in his career.

Hobbies

Outside of work, Greg is dedicated to his family, including his wife, Renae, and their two boys, Austin, a sophomore, and Devin, an 8th grader. The family is often on the go, following their boys’ sporting events. Greg enjoys playing golf with his family and following sports, particularly Cubs baseball and anything related to Florida State. He’s also involved in various community and professional organizations, where he continues to foster connections and contribute to the industry.

Expertise

In his role as a partner, Greg specializes in auditing and enjoys working closely with clients on strategy, balance sheet management, and equity management. He particularly enjoys discussions around grain margins, market-to-market, and merchandising strategies.
