Elizabeth Thyer is a Partner at Gardiner + Company, where she has built an impressive career over the past 26 years. After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa, Elizabeth gained a year of experience in accounting and auditing before joining the firm. Throughout her tenure, she has developed a deep expertise in governmental accounting and auditing, with a focus on financial reporting, the budget process, and specialized areas like tax increment financing and drainage.

Hobbies

Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her husband, Calvin, and their two children, Andrew and Alexa. She is passionate about gardening, cooking, baking, and traveling, often embarking on weekend road trips with her husband. Elizabeth is actively involved in her church and serves on various committees and organizations. Professionally, she is a member of the ISCPA, AICPA, and GFOA (Government Finance Officers Association), where she continues to contribute her knowledge and expertise. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Elizabeth remains committed to overcoming industry challenges such as the shift to remote work and the ongoing need to attract and retain skilled staff in the auditing field.
