Dustin Kalinay

Bio

Dustin Kalinay developed a passion for accounting early in life, fueled by a strong aptitude for math and numbers. His interest solidified during high school, leading him to pursue a degree in Accounting from Iowa State University. Growing up in a small town with deep agricultural roots, Dustin found Gardiner + Company to be the perfect fit for his career. He joined the firm in May 2016, shortly after graduation, and has since earned a reputation for his attention to detail and practical approach to solving complex audit and accounting challenges, particularly in the agricultural sector. Dustin is also a member of the AICPA, ISCPA, and NSAC, where he serves on the NSAC Accounting and Auditing Committee, helping plan educational and training programs.

Hobbies

Outside of work, Dustin enjoys spending time with his fiancée, Carlie, and their growing circle of friends and family. He’s an avid Iowa State fan and supports the Dallas Cowboys, enjoying activities like golfing, attending sporting events, watching movies, and traveling. Dustin is also excited about the arrival of his first child in May 2026. Professionally, he specializes in auditing agricultural cooperatives and other ag-related entities, focusing on financial reporting, patronage, and tax estimates. He takes pride in helping clients with inventory measurements and was instrumental in developing AgriMeasure, a firm tool that utilizes laser measurement technology to support grain and fertilizer inventory calculations. Dustin also plays a key role in the firm’s technology initiatives, including the adoption of AI-aided audit techniques.
